tutorial 01
a tutorial for this icon:

-get your base, duplicate once, and set to soft light, merge down. You should have something like this:

-new layer, exclusion, 46, dark green:

now, all the gradiesnt I'm using are by [info]crumblingwalls

color dodge,38

color burn, 77

overlay, 55

screen, 94

color burn, 100

color burn, 54

color, 30

color burn, 28

copy the base and paste on top of everything, set to soft light.

a text brush which I got from [info]ohpaintbrush

normal, white

now I wrote a huge "&" georgia, 60pt, soft light and placed it where I wanted. now you should have something like this:

I liked it a lot, but there was something missing.. so I added a light texture by [info]teh_indy

set to screen and now you have this:

PLEASE do not copy this tutorial exactly, just use the tips, use different gradients and modes, different opacities, that's what makes it such fun:)

Me too! It is wonderful. I'm constantly checking out that community, but somehow I missed this tutorial. I'm adding it to my memories so I will never lose it : )

I was hoping you could tell me how to apply a texture to an imagie. I downloaded some of the textures from different places and for the life of me can not figure out how to add the texture to my picture

you just copy and paste the texture over your image and then set the opacity for whatever looks good.. usually screen or lighten are the best.
